OBEDIENCE
JESUS LEARNED OBEDIENCE BY THE THINGS HE SUFFERED
We learn the meaning of obedience not by being told to eat chocolate cake but by being told to do the uncomfortable, the discomforting things. Consider the scripture Hebrews 2: 10 For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Who would not expect to say about himself even as a child of God the same thing that was said of Jesus in Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Let us not turn back from the obedience of things God asks us to do. Obedience brings our soul to the cross and lets it have its perfect work, the crucifixion of the flesh. You must willingly endure the agony of the cross as did Jesus, for God will not make you endure the cross. But it is by that cross He crucifies your flesh miraculously with Christ. And then the glorify appears of the soul that is freed from the bondages of flesh. Isaiah 50:5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto
death, even the death of the cross.
Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, 0 God.
Hebrews 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and [offering] for sin thou
wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure [therein]; which are offered by the law;
Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, 0 God. He takes away the first that He may establish the second. And we can well say, He destroys the flesh by the work of the cross that He may establish the soul purified into the kingdom of light. Remember, no flesh and blood shall inherit the kingdom. Your soul is purified as you obey. Obedience leads you to the cross. Enduring that cross unto the death of your flesh in that event of life brings forth the soul into the kingdom of Light.
Romans 1:5 By whom we have received grace … , for obedience to the faith
Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the
commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
John 17: 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth,
Hebrews 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
As we suffer with Him, we are also glorified with Him. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Christ suffered these things to enter into His glory. So, should we. Luke 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
If we skirt around the cross, avoiding it always to save our own flesh, then we shall lose the glory that comes to those who embrace the cross of Jesus.
John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.
John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he
also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
I Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
I Corinthians 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
I Corinthians 3:23 And ye are Christ’s; and Christ [is] God’s.
II Corinthians 4:8 [We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; [we are] perplexed, but not in
despair;
II Corinthians 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down; but not destroyed;
II Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

II Timothy 2: 1 0 -14 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the
salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with
[him], we shall also live with [him]: If we suffer, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us
If we believe not, [yet] he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. Of these things put [them] in
remembrance, charging [them] before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, [but] to the subverting of the hearers.
Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Hebrews 1: 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Hebrews 6: 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed [it] by an oath:
